Bravo Raw food recallBarkley’s was notified this morning about an issue with some of the products that we carry.

We would like to notify our customers that Bravo has issued a recall on some of their frozen raw products. While you may not currently feed your pets this product we wanted to make the information available to everyone so that they may let their friends and family know of the recall in case they use the products themselves.

Bravo, which is based in Manchester, Connecticut, is recalling:

  • Raw Food Diet Bravo!
  • Turkey Blend for Dogs and Cats,
  • Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats
  • Premium Turkey Formula Bravo!
  • Balance Raw Diet,
  • Bravo! Blends All Natural Chicken Blend diet for dogs and cats

All of the affected products were distributed nationwide beginning on November 14, 2013. The affected lots can be identified by their “Best Used By” dates on the side of the package. To see the list of codes, check here.

The recall was initiated after routine testing by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture revealed the presence of Salmonella in two lots of product. No people or pets have become ill from the products to date, according to the company.

The company is also recalling all sizes (2 lb., 5 lb. and 10 lb.) of:

  • Bravo Chicken Blend(s),
  • Bravo Turkey Blend(s),
  • Bravo Balance Chicken Balance
  • Bravo Balance Premium Turkey Formula

The 4 foods above are frozen raw diet products with “Best Used By” dates between June 20, 2016 and September 18, 2016.
